Our grains are grown in an organic environment and are active and ready to use once you receive them. We will include detailed instructions on how to care for them so they will continue to reward you by producing a wonderful, probiotically packed drink right in your own kitchen.
To ensure that our organic kefir grains contain as many strains of probiotic bacteria and beneficial yeast as possible, we cultivate our kefir using a wide variety of different organic sugars and trace minerals. We also procure kefir grains from other parts of the globe to ensure that the grains stay healthy to provide customers a product that offers the largest selection of different beneficial bacteria and yeast strains possible.
All of our kefir grains are fed and nourished daily on sugars such as Organic Panela Sugar, Organic Raw Sugar, Organic Coconut Sugar and Organic Molasses. These are varied in quantities and proportions as not to favour any one bacterial or yeast strain. This allows for optimum variety. We use only quality filtered water that has been ionised. We also add 72 trace minerals to feed the grains every 2nd – 3rd fermentation. We do not use any harsh chemicals in our environment and the grains have not come into contact with anything harmful.
Kefir grains do not have an “expiration date” as such as they will continue to live as long as they are cared for and fed on a regular basis (As described in our care instructions). However, as this is a food based product sold online, we are required by law to provide customers with an expiration date.
