Pooch Wellness 101… This is our beautiful 12 year old Airedale Terrier, Axel. I found an abnormal lump on the side of his neck and got the bad news that it was a mast cell tumor.
Because of its size and where the cancer is plus the fact that Axel also has a weak heart we opted not to operate but rather to treat him to give quality priority to giving him as much ‘quality of life’ for as ling as possible, I did my due diligence by discovering that there are some inexpensive options that have a good track record in delivering such an outcome for him without creating huge stresses on his body.
In consultation with our vet we are treating him with high doses of Prednisolone.
